I wandered up the ragged rocks
Through billowing boulders
That loomed over my head as I walked
Their moss clinging to my fingers
As I climbed out of the loss
Sometimes I have to step back
To see what the horizon has to offer
Letting my thoughts be carried back
By the wind to The One higher than myself
The mountains’ ragged beauty
Is revealed by the height
What was ugly in The Valley
Now has meaning beyond sight
Sometimes I have to step back in order to appreciate
And dedicate
A moment
A second
That seemed sad but is now beautiful.
